Living Free

Every Christ follower should want to live a healthy life that honors God.  Each of us have areas in our lives that need to be strengthened in order for that to become a reality. The healthy areas of our lives can always be strengthened and enriched.  The unhealthy areas need to be faced and dealt with.

Living Free groups help people learn to make the good in their lives even healthier, or to face the areas of struggle and move toward freedom and wholeness in Christ.  These biblically-based discussion groups are safe and confidential.

A new session of Living Free Groups meets on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. Groups include:

Challenging Cancer: For those who are battling cancer, their families, and those connected.

Insight Group: Discovering the Path to Christian Character and Integrity

No Longer A Victim: Overcoming Abusive Relationships through Christ

Concerned Persons Group: Living with a Loved-one’s Life-controlling Problem

Stepping Into Freedom: A Christ-Centered Twelve-Step Program

Divorce Care: Support for divorced, separated, or those going through divorce

Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K): Support for Children of Divorce

GriefShare: Support for Those Who Have Lost a Loved One

Living Free begins with a brief time of worship and a testimony  in the Fellowship Hall, Building 3. We then break into our respective groups. Child Care is available for newborns through 5th grade.

The only cost to attend is the purchase of a $15 workbook (scholarships may be available). An offering will be accepted each week to help cover the cost of refreshments.

Stop by the Information Counter in the lobby for more information or a brochure. You can either sign up there, contact Gail at 239.543.2700 or Gail@FaithNFM.com, or just show up at 5:00 p.m. and get started!

New Sunday School Classes!

Start the New Year right by investing in your spiritual life!  The following classes all start Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m., beginning Sunday, January 1, and running through March:

“Vital Signs” -Pastor Phil Goss in Fellowship Hall

When we go in for a medical checkup, they will check our vital signs. What are the vital signs of a Christian? We will look at those signs that let us know how healthy we are as Christians.

“Wiilationships”- Pastor Tim & Trudi McDaniel in Room 203

Informal and humor-filled, this ongoing teaching and discussion-based class shares vital tools for developing and maintaining healthy, happy, and God-honoring relationships.

“Holiness, Truth and the Presence of God”- Pastor Steve Anderson in the Auditorium

The journey toward Christ-likeness and true holiness is the path that leads to the presence of God in our lives.  Based on the book by Francis Frangipane, this is a study for those who are unsatisfied with their spiritual life and willing to do something about it.

“Life Change” – Priscilla Gaines in Room 204

The life of a Christ-follower requires foundational principles to be put in place that result in long-term life changes that see us through the ups and downs of life.  This class is for those who want to develop and insure a firm, biblical foundation in their lives.

“Single and Parenting: Hard Work, Real Hope” – Gail Reynolds in Room 202

A video and discussion-based class for anyone who is facing the task of raising children on their own.  Topics include: Tired and Overwhelmed, Rest and Comfort, Goals and Expectations, Emotions and Stability, Parenting Tools and Projects, Talking and Listening, Conflict Resolution, Dating and Single Sexuality, and others.

“True Faith” – Ted Gaines in Room 206

Learn how to develop a faith that withstands the tests of life as you learn the difference between a deep faith based on the Word of God as opposed to a faith that rides the tides of what we see or feel.

“Basic Bible” – Carol Young and JoAnn Sandy in Room 208

Learn how to study the Bible by studying the Bible!  Going through the Book of John, you will discover how God’s Word, coupled with the help and insight the Holy Spirit provides, brings about the life-transformation all of us need and want.  A great class for “new” believers as well as for those who would like to increase their knowledge of God’s Word and the Christian life.

Grow 1

The Christian life was never meant to be a one-time only experience on the day we were saved.  We were meant to continually grow…in faith, in knowledge and understanding of God’s Word, in spiritual maturity, and in relationship with God. To help you in your personal growth, we offer the GROW series of classes.

GROW 1 is a class that teaches fundamentals of the Christian life, Bible doctrines, what we believe, and how Faith Assembly operates. It’s extremely helpful for new believers and those who still have questions about the Christian faith. Completion of Grow 1 is also a requirement for anyone who wishes to become a member of Faith Assembly.

There are two opportunities to attend GROW 1 in January. This 4-part study will be offered on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, Building 3, January 4 – 25, and in a single, 3 hour session on Saturday, January 21, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. If you would like to attend, contact Gail@FaithNFM.com or 543.2700.

Financial Peace University

More than 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Thirty-three percent of Christian marriages end in divorce, and money problems are the number one cause.

Financial Peace University (FPU) is Dave Ramsey’s 13- week, life-changing program that teaches you to achieve your financial goals by eliminating debt, saving for the future, and giving like never before.  FPU consists of a 13-week video curriculum—taught by financial expert Dave Ramsey—that incorporates small-group discussions to encourage accountability and discipleship. Financial Peace University is highly entertaining for everyone, with a unique combination of humor, informative financial advice and biblical messages.

More than 1 million families have attended FPU. Financial Peace University classes meet for two hours each week for 13 weeks, during which time the average family pays off $5300 in debt and saves $2700!

The next FPU class begins Sunday, January 9 at 5:00 p.m. and registration is now open.  The cost is $100 for a lifetime membership, which includes the required class materials and aids, and you may pay for it all at once or over the weeks of the class.  Sign up at the Connections table in the lobby beginning January 1, 2012 or contact Gail at 239-543-2700 or Gail@FaithNFM.com.
