Christmas Eve Service & Holiday Schedule

Please join us for a traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight service on Tuesday, December 24th, from 5:30-6:30pm in the Auditorium. With Christmas carols, a message, time with friends and family, and the candlelight ceremony, it’s the perfect way to start your Christmas celebrations. This service is for the entire family so no childcare will be provided.

Also, please note our holiday schedule:

Wednesday, December 25 – No dinner and no service

Sunday, December 29 – Regular Sunday service

Wednesday, January 1 – No dinner and no service

The church offices will be closed from December 24 through January 1. If you have an emergency, please call 239.543.2700.

The Gospel According to Scrooge: 30th Year

The Gospel According to Scrooge is an annual production presented by the people of Faith Assembly. Scrooge is full of British accents, elaborate costumes, and entertaining songs. It is based on the classic Christmas story, “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, but with a Christian twist. We follow Ebenezer Scrooge in the past, present, and future as he confronts his decisions and his relationship with God.

Each year there are cast changes and script re-writes, as we endeavor to present the most entertaining, heart-felt experience for all ages. 2019 is the 30th year of Scrooge at Faith, and it promises to be the best ever. Once again, our massive two-story set will help bring Old London to life for two hours of fun and enjoyment.

Performance dates for 2019 are:

Friday, December 13 at 7pm

Sunday, December 15 at 5pm

Monday, December 16 at 7pm

WITH A NEW SPECIAL EVENT:

The Music of Scrooge: a Sing-A-Long — Saturday, December 14 at 7pm

This special, one-time-only, Saturday sing-a-long event will feature all the songs of our production, along with special guests and exciting additions. This performance will be unlike any you have ever experienced!

The Gospel According to Scrooge: Cast Reunion

Every year since 1990, Faith Assembly has produced The Gospel According to Scrooge in December. It has required many people volunteering their time, talent, and effort to pull it off. Since this is the 30th year, we want to get the Scrooge family back together again!

On Friday, December 13 at 6pm, before the Friday evening performance, we’re inviting all Scrooge cast alumni to come join a reunion. There will be appetizers, fun, and a time to reconnect with old friends! We want to thank you for your part in making 30 years happen at Faith.

DivorceCare for Kids: New Session in January

This 13-week group is designed to help kids work through the hurt of parents who are going through a divorce or separation. January 27th at 7pm in room 202 at the Main Campus will start the new session for Divorce Care for Kids.

If you have a child 4 years old to 12 years old, this video and discussion based group is open to them, including those who don’t attend Faith Assembly. We want to offer this safe, fun place of healing for children to process the divorce of their parents. If your child or someone you know could benefit from this, you’re invited to come.

January’s Men of Faith Night Out

“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps” Proverbs 16:9.

This group meets on the second Tuesday of each month for a meal, devotion, and a time of fellowship with other men. Make plans now to attend the next Men of Faith on Tuesday, January 14, at 6:30pm in the Hall. There is no cost to attend. An offering will be taken.

GriefShare: New Session in January

January 26th at 5pm will start the new session of GriefShare in our choir room. This caring, supportive recovery group will help you go through one of life’s most difficult experiences.

If you or someone you know is hurting because of the death of someone close, join this 13-week GriefShare group. The group is open to anyone, including those who don’t attend Faith Assembly. This is a video and discussion-based group. A $15 workbook is recommended, but there is no cost for the class.

DivorceCare: New Session in January

DivorceCare will start their new group session on Monday, January 27 at 7pm in the choir room. This video and support-based group will help those who are going through separation or divorce.

Open to both Faith attenders and non-attenders, there is no charge to attend, although the purchase of the $15 workbook is encouraged. Childcare is available.

January’s Archery and BBQ Picnic

On January 25th our archery range is open to everyone at 9am. Come and learn something new or sharpen the skills you already have, work on your aim, and meet new people. Targets and equipment are supplied or you can bring your own. Meet in the clearing behind the Main Campus.

Please bring a dish to share and your outdoor chairs. Meat and drinks will be provided. Even if it’s your first time, you are welcome to a morning of archery and BBQ lunch.
